Dr. Tintu Varghese is an Assistant Professor at The Wellcome Trust Research Laboratory (WTRL), Division of Gastrointestinal Sciences, Christian Medical College, Vellore. She leads research on the burden, aetiology, and epidemiology of childhood diarrhea, along with immunology and vaccine responses related to rotavirus, managing both field and laboratory activities. Prior to this, she served as Senior Resident at Government Medical College, Thrissur, and Assistant Professor at KMCT Medical College, Kozhikode, specializing in laboratory management and teaching.
Dr. Varghese is an emerging leader in the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID). She holds an MD in Clinical Microbiology and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. University. She also holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Royal College of Physicians, London.
Outside her academic work, Dr. Varghese enjoys traveling, artistic pursuits, and journaling.
