Terry Watkins has more than 25 years in leadership development with global leaders from various industries, including non-profit, government, telecommunications, hospitality, software, pharmaceutical, and banking. Throughout an extensive career with executive coaching firms, Terry has partnered with organizational sponsors, sales professionals, project managers, and leadership coaches worldwide to provide high level executive coaching to organizational leaders at all levels.
Current Role
As Executive Coaching Practice Manager at CCL, Terry serves as a coaching subject matter expert, strategic partner, and facilitator in the business development, integration, and delivery of executive coaching. In her role, Terry partners with sales, project managers, and leadership coaches to provide excellence in executive coaching for organizational leaders at all levels. Her broad management, leadership, and coaching experience informs her strategic and systemic thinking from both internal and external perspectives. With CCL’s Senior Director of Global Coaching, Terry serves as a thought partner on coaching strategies and processes while recruiting, onboarding, and training coaches. She oversees selected lead coaches who have additional coaching responsibilities on large scale global accounts and provides support, direction, and feedback to executive coaches.
In her own leadership coaching practice, Terry is passionate about supporting individuals and small groups to increase their awareness of behaviors that impede goal achievement and leadership effectiveness. Terry’s warm demeanor and welcoming coaching approach help her quickly and effectively establish rapport with leaders from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Her keen listening skills and empathetic style foster an open, supportive, and trusting environment that encourages clients to deeply self-reflect, develop self-awareness, and create positive behavioral changes.
Educational Background
Terry earned a Master of Professional Studies in Applied Industrial and Organizational Psychology from George Mason University and an MBA from Grand Canyon University.
Professional Affiliations
Terry holds a Professional Coaching Certificate (PCC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Terry served for several years as a board member of the ICF Virginia Chapter, and is also a member of the Project Management Institute Virginia Chapter. She is certified in the Center for Creative Leadership’s Benchmarks® 360 Assessments, TruScore 360, WorkPlace Big Five, Hogan, FIRO-B, Influence Style Indicator, Change Style Indicator, Vertical Mindset Indicator, and Leadership Network Diagnostic.
