Subhashree Rajan is the Chief Executive Officer of Ekam Foundation, where she works to strengthen maternal and child health systems so that every mother and every newborn has the opportunity not only to survive, but to thrive. With over 15 years of experience spanning biomedical engineering, medical technology, and public health, her work focuses on advancing solutions that improve women’s and children’s health and strengthen primary healthcare systems. She began her career in medical technology, contributing to affordable innovations that improved maternal and newborn care, before moving into the development sector to work on large-scale public health programmes. At Ekam, she collaborates with governments, development partners, and communities to strengthen health systems and promote behaviour change that improves awareness and practices around health. Her leadership is guided by a simple belief: maternal and child health must move beyond survival toward systems rooted in dignity, wellness, and shared responsibility for every mother and every child.
