Srilatha Sivalenka is a Senior Consultant at UNICEF, where she manages US Government CDC/PEPFAR projects and leads the implementation of Adolescent Health Programs. She has over 25 years of experience in managing large-scale public health programs and conducting research. Before joining UNICEF, she served as a Senior Public Health Specialist at the US CDC (2007–2020), leading US Government programs under the Division of Global HIV/AIDS and TB in India and Sri Lanka. Prior to that, she was the South India Program Manager at PATH, where she played a key role in Japanese Encephalitis surveillance, new vaccine introduction, and implementation of one of India’s largest injection campaigns (2003–2007). Her earlier roles include serving as Director and Faculty at the Institute of Health Systems, a Health Policy Research Institute (1994–2003), and as a Research Officer at the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. She has contributed to multiple national and state-level health reviews as a member of NACO and World Bank joint implementation review committees and is currently serving as a General Body Member of LEPRA India, an international non-governmental organization. Srilatha holds a Graduate Nursing degree from the Government College of Nursing, Hyderabad and was awarded the USAID award for outstanding performance in the nursing curriculum. She holds a Master’s in Social Sciences from Osmania University and is a PhD scholar at TISS Mumbai. She is also a Taro Takemi Fellow in International Health (2001–2002) from Harvard University. Beyond her professional work, she enjoys travelling, playing an instrument Veena, and cooking.
