Dr. Sonam Vijay currently serves as a Scientific Consultant at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, India. With over more than 15 years of research experience, her primary areas of focus include antimicrobial resistance (AMR), malaria, and other infectious diseases. Since 2017, Dr. Vijay has played a pivotal role in coordinating the Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at ICMR. She has also contributed to the formulation of the National Essential Diagnostics List for India, helping shape the country’s approach to diagnostics across various healthcare levels. She obtained his PhD in Biotechnology and a post-doctoral fellowship from the National Institute of Malaria Research, India.
