Ruchi Vaidya, Assistant Professor, Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations

I am an Assistant Professor and Nutrition Specialist at Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations in Bangalore, where I lead initiatives to strengthen nutrition education, empower healthcare workers, and develop community-based strategies for chronic disease prevention. My research in metabolomic nutrition, particularly on the role of gut microbiota in preventing prediabetes, earned me the Young Scientist Award, a recognition that continues to drive my commitment. Currently, I lead a community-based human clinical trial focused on advancing diabetes prevention and management in underserved communities, supported by a Young Scientist Grant from the Almond Board of California.

Beyond academia, I am an active socialist and affiliated with EcDEESHA Foundation, a budding NGO working at the intersection of health, environment, and education. I also lead an Adolescent Health and Nutrition Initiative, advocating for sustainable development goals among teenagers. I hold a PhD in Nutrition. Beyond work, I am a trained classical singer and an emerging social media influencer, to inspire conversations on health, wellness, and culture.
