My present role as National Professional Officer (Adolescent Health) with WHO Country Office for India (New Delhi) provides me with a prerogative to support country’s adolescent health and well-being initiatives in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Being trained as a medical graduate from King George’s Medical College (Lucknow, India) and having acquired super-specialization in pediatric gastroenterology from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (Lucknow, India), my academic journey spans through the most reputed premier medical institutes of the country. I have more than 20 years of clinical experience in child healthcare including my faculty contributions in renowned medical institutions. My decade long public health expertise at WHO India Office includes majorly my role as a Clinical Specialist with the Vaccine Preventable Disease team of National Public Health Support Network (NPSN) which is well known for making India polio-free through strong collaborative and public health service delivery initiatives at national and sub-national levels.
Apart from my fervor for teaching and research, I have always been passionate about promoting holistic health and well-being of children, adolescents and young people.
I have spearheaded the national polio expert review committee, mentored the WHO-CDC Applied Epidemiology Program officers, have numerous research publications to my credit and am a regular reviewer of reputed pediatrics/gastroenterology journals. My other affiliations consist of being life member of academic, pediatric, gastroenterology, behavioural, developmental, social, public health and medico-legal bodies (IAP, ISPHANCON, AHA, GDBP Academy, ICANCL group, IAP Medico-legal chapter).
