Rachael Goba is a seasoned Senior Technical Advisor with extensive expertise in gender-transformative health systems strengthening, adolescent health—including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)—HIV, maternal, newborn and child health, adolescent nutrition, and gender programming across Southern Africa and globally. She has a proven track record in leading the strategic design and delivery of integrated health programs at both regional and national levels, across development and humanitarian contexts.
Rachael has collaborated with government bodies, civil society organizations, and international development partners in the formulation and implementation of health and gender strategies, advocacy initiatives, and the development of knowledge and learning materials. She is a qualified trainer in adolescent health, feminist leadership, gender equity and social inclusion, health advocacy and governance, comprehensive sexuality education, positive parenting, and social analysis and action approaches.
She is skilled in applying gender equity and social inclusion principles, community engagement, and community-led social accountability and advocacy to promote inclusive, rights-based access to services for women, girls, and key populations. An expert in convening multi-sectoral partnerships, Rachael has led the development of culturally responsive training and guidance tools and supported the integration of gender equity across health system components—from service delivery to governance and accountability mechanisms.
Rachael also brings a strong background in health donor relations and fundraising across Africa and Asia. She serves on the Board of the St. Daniel’s Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre in Zimbabwe and is a mentor with the Reproductive Health Academy for Africa.
