It is over 12 years since I qualified as a Psychiatrist from PGIMER, Chandigarh; of which over 8 years have been spent working as a faculty member. I am presently holding the position of Associate Professor cum Head, Department of Psychiatry at Dr.BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali, Punjab. During my entire tenure as faculty in Psychiatry I have been actively involved in clinical, academic, research and administrative activities. My area of work includes, but is not limited to preventive and clinical services, as well as advocacy for patients with SMI (Severe Mental Illness); MBBS trainees; vulnerable women and children; and other marginal and at-risk groups. When not working, I love to indulge in different art forms with my son which acts as a great stress buster for me.
