Mythri Shankar

Dr. Mythri Shankar is an Associate Professor of Nephrology at the Institute of Nephro‑Urology, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru, and an International Society of Nephrology Emerging Leader (Cohort 3). A clinician–educator and global health advocate, she has authored over 100 peer‑reviewed publications and book chapters spanning glomerular diseases, genetic kidney diseases, dialysis, transplantation, and gender equity in kidney care. She serves as GlomCon fellowship instructor, Editorial Fellow for Clinical Kidney Journal, and Secretary of Women in Nephrology India (Karnataka chapter), and holds multiple editorial and committee roles with ISN and leading nephrology journals. Her work has been recognized with awards including the Dr H. L. Trivedi Gold Medal, National Young Academic Excellence Award, CJASN Best Visual Abstract Award, NephJC Founders Award, and Young Investigator honors from Indian and international societies. Outside work, she enjoys dancing and traveling.
