Dr. K. Lalitha, Professor and former HOD of Community Medicine at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, has more than two decades of experience in public health education, research, and health systems strengthening. She holds an MBBS and MD in Community Medicine. Her core research areas include healthcare waste management, geriatrics, tuberculosis, and immunization. She has led and coordinated several national and international projects funded by ICMR, WHO, and UNIDO, including large-scale capacity-building initiatives across multiple Indian states.

During her tenure as HOD, she led the department through NAAC accreditation; spearheaded key academic and programmatic reforms, including implementation of CBME, Family Adoption Programme and Revised internship training in medical education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she has contributed to state-level surveillance, research, and knowledge exchange.

Currently serves as Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the university, providing strategic leadership to ensure a safe, inclusive, and gender-equitable workplace.
Outside work, she enjoys travelling and music and believes in spreading positivity by letting go of negative experiences.
