Dr. Lakshmi Krishnan is a maxillofacial pathologist and public health specialist. In her current role as Specialist Scientist at Isaac Centre for Public Health, IISc, she leads projects that leverages AI to manage non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and contributes to developing strategic large-scale proposals.
Over the past 12 years, her work has encompassed NCD screening, clinical research, and health systems strengthening. Grounded in her belief that innovation-led, technology-driven preventive health systems are the way forward for resource-limited settings like India, her work bridges technology and healthcare. Her experience spans across diverse organisations – a health-tech not-for-profit at IIT Madras, a cancer NGO in Pune, a corporate scientific writing role in Bengaluru, two health-tech start-ups, and now academia at IISc. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the KIT Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam.
Beyond her professional work, she channels her creativity into art, writing, theatre, travel, and coordinates activities for sea turtle conservation.
