Dr. Kanagam is a distinguished biotechnologist and the Founder and CEO of Phycosol Ecotech, where she pioneers microalgal solutions for environmental remediation and advances the circular economy. Holding a PhD in Biotechnology, she previously served as an Assistant Professor for eight years, effectively bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application. Her leadership within the startup ecosystem is reflected in her success in securing IITMIC CSR grants and the StartupTN TANSEED 7.0 grant, as well as her selection for the prestigious STEM WLSE program by GCI-BIRAC. Deeply committed to sustainable urban infrastructure, Dr. Kanagam leads innovative initiatives ranging from industrial effluent treatment to indoor air purification systems. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, she actively mentors women in STEM and contributes to social research initiatives. Her work is centered on transforming carbon sequestration and wastewater management into commercially viable, green architectural solutions, positioning her as a key leader in India’s growing bio-economy.She is a passionate advocate for community-led STEM education and enjoys spending her weekends mentoring young students through the Agaram Foundation. At home, however, her most demanding and rewarding leadership role is keeping up with her two energetic daughters.
