Judith Bentil

Judith Bentil (Specialist Advanced Midwife, Methodist Hospital, Wenchi) is a Ghanaian midwife and Head of the Obstetric and Gynaecologic Department at Methodist Hospital, Wenchi. She leads strategic and frontline initiatives to improve maternal and newborn outcomes, with a focus on emergency obstetric care, cervical cancer prevention, and quality improvement in resource-constrained settings. Her work centres on strengthening health systems and advancing respectful, evidence-based maternity care. Judith has contributed to research on midwives’ experiences with maternal mortality and is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Distinguished Service. She has also secured competitive grant funding to advance innovative maternal health interventions. A committed leader, she is passionate about influencing policy, building capacity among midwives, and driving sustainable change in maternal health across Ghana and beyond.
