Josephine has over 18 years of experience in organizational development and leadership, public health and program implementation, focusing on various aspects of health systems strengthening (HSS) as well as organizational capacity strengthening. Technical areas of expertise include HIV and AIDS, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, and human resources for health (HRH). She has also been involved in strengthening primary healthcare systems and implementing integrated approaches including Population Health and Environment (PHE) and Gender initiatives. Josephine has vast experience in organizational capacity development (managed over 33 local-sub-awards) that included organizational assessments and capacity strengthening. Her additional professional qualification as Certified Professional Coach has enhanced her competence in empowering and building capacity of individuals and teams. Josephine’s contribution to reproductive health in Kenya was recognized and led to her nomination to be part of the 2024 East Africa Leadership Journey on Family Planning and Contraceptive access, organized by WomenLift Health an initiative that seeks to strengthen the women leadership competences. Josephine has experience working with various funding agencies: USAID, DANIDA, UK aid (FCDO), private donors. Josephine has served in senior management positions (Director, COP, DCOP, Senior advisor), most recently as the Country Team Lead for NPI EXPAND Kenya Activity. She holds a double master’s in public health (MPH) and Business Administration (MBA).
