Ifat Hamid is an Advocate and senior gender and public health expert with over two decades of experience in policy advocacy, program design, and implementation across government and non-government agencies. She has led national and state-level initiatives on gender mainstreaming across RMNCHA+, family planning, adolescent health, prevention of gender-based violence, and compliance with medical and gender laws, including the PCPNDT, POSH, MTP, ART & Surrogacy, POCSO, medical equipment, and e-waste regulations.
Her work spans strategic leadership roles with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, UNFPA, Population Services International (India), FICCI, and grassroots women’s collectives, with a strong focus on convergence, equity, and systems strengthening. Postgraduate in SRHR, Child Rights, Gender & Development and English literature, with certifications in ESG, CSR, and climate change. She is a nationally recognised expert on PC&PNDT, ART& Surrogacy regulations and a recipient of CII (J&K) recognition for excellence in gender and public health. She brings a rare blend of legal, policy, and implementation expertise to advance gender equity, ethical governance, and sustainable development aligned with national priorities and the SDGs
