Harriet Mayanja-Kizza. MBChB, MMed, MSc, PhD is an internist, trainer and researcher at Makerere University, College of Health Sciences, with a Masters of Medicine, Masters of immunology, and a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences. She is a former Chair of internal medicine, and former Dean School of Medicine at Makerere University. As a trainer at the Makerere School of medicine, she teaches, mentors and supervise undergraduates, post graduates and Masters and Doctoral research. In addition, as a senior faculty, also mentor junior and mid-level physicians and faculty especially in areas related to research and publications.Prof Kizza has been a mentor in various global health fora, including Glocal mentorship program, and GH women’s forum, as well as talks and webinars on women in global health. Prof Kizza is currently a Council member of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences, and Chair of the Governing Council of the Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care in Africa, based in Uganda, a Co- Director of the Makerere-Yale global health program, and an adjunct lecturer of Case Western Reserve University, USA.
