Dr. Gomathi Ramaswamy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bibinagar, Hyderabad, India. She is a public health expert and her research primarily focuses on public health nutrition, with a particular emphasis on anemia and malnutrition among under-five children.

She actively collaborates with communities, governments, and development partners to conduct implementation research aimed at addressing the triple burden of malnutrition among vulnerable populations. As the nodal person for the State Centre of Excellence for Nutrition, she leads efforts to combat child wasting in Telangana. Dr. Ramaswamy is also a mentor in the World Health Organization’s Structured Operational Research and Training Initiative (SORT IT), where she contributes to building the operational research capacity of healthcare providers in India and various African countries. Her collaborations extend to organizations such as UNICEF, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), ICAR-National Meat Research, and the National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC), India.
Previously, she served as a Scientist at the National Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research on Anemia Control (NCEAR-A), a key technical support unit for the Government of India’s Anemia Mukt Bharat (Anemia-Free India) program. Dr. Ramaswamy earned her MD from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, India and an undergraduate from Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital, Tamil Nadu, India.
