Dr Geeta Chhibber has 24 years of work experience as an obstetrician gynecologist and public health professional in various settings, both nationally and internationally. With strong technical and programmatic skills and demonstrated ability to use a health systems approach for problem solving, she has supported the implementation of several at-scale Sexual Reproductive Maternal Newborn Health (SRMNCH) public health programs. She has led efforts related to introduction of newer contraceptives into the expanded basket by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, service delivery strengthening, policy, advocacy and most recently, the introduction of a new cadre of health care workers, the nurse practitioner midwife in a Government of India (GOI) flagship program aimed at providing respectful high-quality care to all women and newborns. In addition, she serves as member Technical Advisory Group, GOI supporting the MOHFW in the development and design of various policy documents, guidelines, strategies, training curricula and packages, member Guideline Development Group with WHO, Geneva for Sexual Reproductive Health.

Having worked closely with national, several state governments, donors and a variety of stakeholders over several large-scale projects, she believes in fostering partnerships to achieve shared goals. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and taking care of dogs.
