I work as Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. I have been actively involved in training medical graduates, post graduates & doctoral students; capacity building of faculty and students in research methodology for over 15 years. Active participation in community-based research including designing and implementation of mother and child health programs and projects and addressing non-communicable diseases at the primary care level have been my key areas of interest. In addition to teaching graduate & doctoral students at the University, I have also served as Institutional ethics committee member, member of department research committee, board of studies & subject expert for various committees. Currently, I am the Chairperson of the Clinical Trials research vertical of the institution, serve as associate editor of CEGH; editorial board member of BMC Public Health, and review manuscripts for national and international journals and also serve on project review committees. Being a public health specialist and medical doctor by training, I am a people person, with an ability to communicate effectively with the audience. I do believe in finding novel solutions to existing challenges. Nature walks and calm music are my key stress busters.
