Dr. Atom Annupama Devi is a plant biotechnologist, academician, and social entrepreneur dedicated to sustainable innovation and rural livelihood development. She currently serves as a faculty member at Pravabati College, Manipur, with over a decade of experience in plant biotechnology, genetic resource management, and value addition of banana agro-waste. She holds a doctoral degree and Post Doctoral (DBT-RA and SERB-NPDF) in Biotechnology and has led multiple research and community-based initiatives promoting eco-friendly products, women empowerment, and circular economy practices through banana fiber technologies.
Dr. Devi is the Founder of Chankorb Private Limited, a social enterprise transforming agricultural waste into sustainable products and income opportunities for rural communities. She is a recipient of several recognitions, including the Young Biotechnologist Award and Young Women Scientist Award (2024).
Outside her professional work, she enjoys mentoring young students and experimenting with innovative uses of natural fibers for everyday products.
