Aparna Kamath has over a decade of experience in global health, including impact investing, strategy and fundraising, program design and management, and technical assistance. Aparna is currently at Grand Challenges Canada, where she serves as Portfolio Manager leading the Maternal and Newborn Health portfolio, investing in innovations across the globe to reach impact and scale. Prior to Grand Challenges Canada, Aparna was with the Clinton Health Access Initiative where she was responsible for a portfolio of programs with policymakers across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia to design and implement public health insurance reforms and improve efficiency and effectiveness in spending across the public and private sector. Aparna’s experience spans the areas of maternal and newborn health, reproductive health, and health financing, living and working across North America, Eastern and Southern Africa and South Asia. Aparna holds a Master’s degree in Global Health and Population from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and International Relations from Smith College.
