POSITION SUMMARY

WomenLift Health is seeking an Instructional Design Lead to work under the direction of the Program Operations Director and Program Content Director, and in close collaboration with teammates and partners at the global and country levels. Using a Human-Centered Design approach, the Instructional Design Lead will be responsible for a variety of learning experiences for talented women leaders and male allies in global health. This includes the continued evolution, refinement and contextualization of the Leadership Journey curricula. Beyond the core curricula, the Instructional Design Lead will create innovative, interactive, and exciting online tools such as workshops and e-learning modules to expand the technical and leadership skills of women leaders in health.

As WomenLift Health expands into different geographies beginning with India and East Africa (with an ultimate aim to expand to 25 countries in 9 years), the Instructional Design Lead will work closely with Country teams and partners to learn, develop and adapt systems and processes to appropriately contextualize the core curricula, pedagogy, mentoring and coaching networks to be relevant to different cultures and health systems. The Instructional Design Lead must thrive in a dynamic and creative work environment, be a self-starter and self-driven learner, relish co-creating with a team, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be a passionate change agent for advancing women’s leadership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Together with Content Director and working in close collaboration with global and national partners, adapt and contextualize WomenLift Health’s curricula for the Leadership Journey, and design culturally relevant online workshops, e-learning modules. Key elements of this work include:
    • Continuing to adapt the core curriculum to be relevant to different cultures and health systems as WomenLift Health continues its Global US based cohort and establishes presence in new geographies beginning with the India Leadership Journey and East Africa Leadership Journey;
    • Establishing processes for continued research & surveying to determine the needs and priority leadership focus for women leaders in different geographies, sectors, and disciplines;
    • Designing quarterly online Leadership Workshops and other more targeted learning tools;
    • Designing and supporting the development of e-learning modules to build leadership skills for women in global health.
  • Establish and implement processes to collect, analyze and share new learning across the global network of teams and partners on the Leadership Journey, online workshops and e-learning library.
  • Develop training-of-trainer curricula and processes that can be adapted and implemented in each geography with the aim of building a cadre of local trainers.
  • Develop communication materials for leadership trainings and workshops provided by WomenLift Health.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation systems, processes and methodologies for the Leadership Journey, online workshops and e-learning library.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the global strategy and workplan

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY     

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in leadership training curriculum development for diverse, preferably global audiences. Women’s Leadership, Gender Equality and/or Global Health experience is a plus. Knowledge of digital & online learning is a plus
  • Proven ability to independently design and develop curricula as well as processes, systems and tools to prioritize, adapt, contextualize, and create instructional products that truly serve diverse recipients from different cultures
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to collaborate and co-create within teams
  • Depth of experience, maturity and confidence, ability to learn and adapt, befitting an instructional design leader
  • Proactive, self-starter able to work independently
