2021 Leadership Journey Project: Shifting power to abortion rights activists in East Africa

Erin Lynn Williams (she/her/elle) is the Founder and Principal at Consulting à la mode where philanthropic advising, coaching and creative expression collide.

As an advisor, facilitator, and coach, Erin provides philanthropic thought partnership to individuals and foundations and strategic support to movement leaders and people of color working in philanthropy. Her expertise includes collaborative fund start-up, trust-based and participatory grantmaking, funder education, learning and impact, organizational development, change management, and workshops for donors who want to deepen their giving practices in service of social justice, repair, and liberation.

For over 20 years, Erin has held leadership roles in civil society organizations and global and domestic intermediary foundations that resource activists advancing sexual and reproductive justice, adolescent girls’ rights, feminist technology and narrative and cultural strategy.

As a Black mixed-race bilingual (English and French) woman, Erin listens radically, brokers courageous conversations and curates brave spaces for her clients that weave in creativity, somatic and mindfulness practices.
