Priyanka Parhi is an applied biotechnologist working at the intersection of environmental biotechnology, food technology, and applied microbiology, with formal training from her bachelor’s studies through to a Ph.D. in Microbial Biotechnology. Her interest in science began early, driven by a curiosity about how microbial systems influence food, health, and ecosystems in everyday life. .
Her academic journey built a strong technical foundation, while pre-Ph.D. research roles exposed her to applied science in resource-constrained settings. Projects in microalgae isolation, biosurfactants, and in-silico drug discovery strengthened her adaptability and problem-solving abilities. Her Ph.D. at Monash University marked significant personal and professional growth, with a focus on probiotics and functional foods.
Currently, as CTO at Mr. Biologist LLP and co-founder of Bihangam India LLP, she leads R&D and innovation initiatives. Across her journey, she remains committed to sustainability, mentorship, and impactful science.
