Dr. Debarati Mukherjee is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Public Health-Bengaluru, and Lead and Professor-in-Charge of the Center for Developmental and Lifecourse Research at the Public Health Foundation of India. In this role, she leads multidisciplinary research teams, mentors early-career researchers, and oversees the implementation of research, academic, strategy, and funding roadmaps. Her primary research interests are in maternal and child health. She also serves as President of the DOHaD India Regional Society, responsible for forging collaborations to advance life course research, education, and policy impact across national and international platforms. Her training in Cell and Molecular Biology, with a PhD from Purdue University, USA, and a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru, enables her to bring a translational and multidisciplinary lens to public health programs. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, cooking Bengali dishes, and solving 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles.
