Alida has over 10 years of experience working in the healthcare sector, particularly in laboratory quality management, infectious diseases, and laboratory systems coordination. She currently works as a Senior Program Manager for infectious diseases with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Rwanda. She has been with CHAI for five years, starting as an associate and rising up the ranks.

Prior to CHAI, Alida worked with the Project San Francisco, a private research laboratory conducting clinical trials on HIV vaccine, where she served as a Laboratory Quality Manager. She has also worked in the public sector, specifically in the National Reference Laboratory at Rwanda Biomedical Centre as a laboratory systems coordinator and as Head of the Tuberculosis diagnosis department at Kigali University Teaching Hospital.

Alida holds a Master’s degree in International Public Health from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Rwanda. She has participated in several fellowships, including Techwomen, where she was placed at the University of California, San Francisco, to learn and work on new diagnostic technologies.
