Vanessa is a Leadership Coach for Center for Creative Leadership’s Greater Colorado region. Based in Denver, she’s been adjunct faculty with CCL since 2006 and partners with executives from a broad range of private and public industries to help develop new capabilities that support their organizations and growth as effective leaders. Additionally, she is also Owner and C.O.O. of Organizational Assessment and Development (OA&D) LLC along with her own coaching and consulting practice. Vanessa draws from over 15 years of management experience in mid and senior leadership roles within healthcare hospital settings. She has led large teams and organizations through significant change including start-up operations and mergers. Former roles include Marketing VP for a national healthcare foundation; State Director of Operations for a network of non-profit behavioral healthcare facilities; Consultant; Business Owner; Facilitator; Trainer.
Vanessa’s clients include Fortune 500 companies from the following industries: healthcare, retail, software, consumer products, education, manufacturing, engineering and construction firms, insurance, financial services, aerospace, energy, defense, intelligence agencies, various non-profit organizations as well as multiple state and federal government agencies. Global experience includes clients from 24 different countries.
Current Role
With a breadth of management experience and behavioral sciences background, Vanessa can respond effectively to the challenges faced by many managers and executives. Her organizational systems background helps clients navigate the complex systemic factors often contributing to their ability to drive business results. Her approach is based on a shared partnership with clients to candidly assess their strengths and areas of needed development while motivating clients to create and sustain the changes needed to improve their effectiveness as leaders. Clients routinely comment on Vanessa’s direct yet warm communication style along with the skill, intuition, and business savvy she brings to the coaching relationship.
Educational Background
Vanessa obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver. She is certified in the administration of a broad range of personality assessments as well as 360 feedback instruments including Benchmarks 360, Korn Ferry 360, Hogan Suite, Global Leadership Profile, Workplace Big 5, Campbell Leadership Inventory, MBTI, Clifton Strengths, Leadership Versatility Index, OPM 360, FIRO-B, Thomas Kilmann Instrument (TKI), Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP) among others.
Professional Affiliations
Vanessa is certified as an executive coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and licensed as an LCSW through the Colorado State Board of Social Work Examiners. She serves on the board of directors for a non-profit learning organization and volunteers as a guest speaker for the Douglas County Youth Leadership Initiative. A proud parent of two young adult children, Vanessa enjoys watching them pursue their passions as well as traveling with her husband, skiing, hiking, and attending sporting events.
