Yemisrach Hussen is a public health and nutrition professional in Ethiopia with experience advancing multisectoral program that connect nutrition, health, education, food systems, and social protection. She currently serves as a Senior Nutrition Consultant with UNICEF Ethiopia, supporting integrated adolescent health and nutrition services beyond school platforms, as well as youth-focused food systems programming.
Her work sits at the intersection of systems strengthening, program innovation, and partnership-building. She supports the design and delivery of integrated approaches that respond to the needs of children, adolescents, and young people, while promoting more inclusive, scalable, and locally owned solutions. She is particularly committed to translating national priorities into practical, youth-responsive programs that connect services, strengthen partnerships, and expand opportunities for healthier futures.
Yemisrach holds a BSc in Public Health from Ethiopia and an International Executive MBA from Switzerland. She has also been recognized through the African Nutrition Leadership Program and the Young UNICEF Are Leaders Program.
She is passionate about the power of women, individually and collectively, to influence institutions, shift norms, and accelerate sustainable, gender-responsive health reform.
