2023 Leadership Journey Project: Taking Cervical Cancer Screening to Doorsteps of Women: Evidence to policy

Roopa Hariprasad is currently employed as clinician-scientist at ICMR’s National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research, India and involved in programmes pertaining to community-based screening and early detection of oral, cervical and breast cancers and also field based research in cancer prevention and early detection. She has participated in the formulation of the framework document for cancer screening which has been released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India to implement the population-based cancer screening in the country.  Roopa has also been actively involved in the frontline health care providers’ master training program at the behest of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India. She has 74 publications in indexed national and international journals and has authored 5 book chapters.

 

Roopa is passionate about cancer prevention and firmly believes that screening services should be accessible to every eligible individual irrespective of their geographical location, gender and socioeconomic status.
