Mutiat Bolanle Ibrahim (Senior Lecturer & Researcher, University of Lagos) is an academic pharmacist and scientist dedicated to basic scientific research that provides complementary therapies for human health, with a particular interest in cancer management and female contraceptives. Her expertise in natural product research focuses on the characterisation of phytochemicals with anticancer, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory potentials. Dr Ibrahim holds a master’s and PhD degrees in Pharmacognosy from the University of Lagos, where she currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy. She is an active member of several professional organisations, including the American Society of Pharmacognosy, Canadian Association of Global Health, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, and Nigerian Young Academy. Her accolades include the University of Lagos’s Best PhD. Thesis Award and multiple international travel grants. She currently serves as a Principal Investigator on a grant exploring herbal-based spermicides for female contraception through a grant from the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation).
