Joy Chikwendu (Lecturer, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka) is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in Parasitology and Entomology with a strong focus on malaria, other vector-borne diseases, and public health in Nigeria. She holds a PhD and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on mosquito ecology, disease transmission, and innovative control strategies. Her work integrates research, teaching, and community engagement to address pressing health challenges, particularly in underserved populations. Joy is passionate about advancing women’s leadership in science and contributing to sustainable health systems aligned with global development goals. She has been actively involved in research initiatives on malaria, arboviruses, and public health interventions. Outside of work, Joy enjoys storytelling and creative writing, using narratives to communicate science, social justice, and inspire change.
