2023 Leadership Journey Project: Understanding Barriers faced by Women Entrepreneurs in Healthcare Technology/Biotechnology Space in India: A stakeholder perspective

Jayeeta Chowdhury is the Program Director at India Health Fund, which has been set up by Tata Trusts. She has been on deputation to India Health Fund since its inception. She is a senior executive with 20+ years of experience in social development, impact and philanthropy. She has worked extensively in India and South Asia on health and gender and specifically on sexual and reproductive health and rights, child malnutrition, infectious diseases, palliative care, healthcare technologies and health systems strengthening. Jayeeta’s focus has always been on addressing health inequities, underprivileged communities in rural and remote areas.

Jayeeta has played an instrumental role in setting up different not-for-profit organisations and impactful initiatives like the India Health Fund, which focuses on bridging gaps in healthcare by supporting innovation development and integration into the health system. Jayeeta’s expertise lies in program strategy, design and implementation; partnership building, policy and advocacy; capacity building and mentorship of young professionals. She holds a multi-disciplinary background with a Public Health Degree from Royal Topical Institute, Amsterdam and Post Graduate Degree from Delhi School of Economics and is trained in Humanitarian Response from Humanitarian Academy, Harvard University. She also attended the eMerging Leadership Seminar organised by The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and Tata Management Training CentreThe Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and Tata Management Training Centre.
