2023 Leadership Journey Project: Fostering an All-Inclusive Public Health Curriculum: Exploration of stakeholder’s perspectives

Farzana was born and raised in Assam and she always dreamt of becoming a successful medical doctor from a very early age. With the support of a family where education, simplicity, hard work, inclusiveness, liberal thinking was always given priority, she completed her MBBS and MD in Community Medicine, from Gauhati Medical College, Assam. Post that, she continued to work in various Public Health projects in UNICEF, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Assam, WHO-NPSP(in Jharkhand) and she developed a deep passion for public health as it focuses not only on promoting and protecting the health of communities, but also involves the goal of preventing diseases and improving overall health outcomes. Currently, she works as the Professor and Head in the Department of Community Medicine, at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR), New Delhi and has dedicated herself towards grooming the future public health professionals as well as engaging deeply in research. In addition, as a part of the senior management of the Medical College, she has supported in developing the institution as a centre of excellence.
