Dr. Anna Winters is a globally recognized spatial epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience in infectious and noncommunicable disease control, as well as health systems strengthening. She trained at leading institutions, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she specialized in vector-borne infectious diseases through the Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases (DVBID).
As co-founder and CEO of Akros, Dr. Winters has led groundbreaking work in supporting Ministries of Health across the Global South. Under her leadership, Akros has built and scaled robust disease surveillance and response systems, with a focus on using geospatial intelligence to inform more efficient and equitable health service delivery—reaching even the most underserved populations.
